Do the 1994-95 mustang gt's have a top speed governor? Can you remove it? Mine starting cutting out at 140. And no I do not normally drive this fast but the highway was empty about 3am and I decided to see what she would do. Just curious, and I can't seem to find any info on this.
But when I hit 140 it didn't just flatten out, it "yanked" my speed down. It felt just like my 98 V6 when I would hit the governor with it. What would make the car feel like that? If it was really just all she had wouldn't it just flatten out? It pulled real strong right up until it hit 140. But thanks again for the input Stone.
Me and another mustang were running each other one time and I had mine up to 150 and let off because I was coming up on traffic. When I came up on traffic I let off of the gas and looked at the speedo and it was coming down off of 150. She was still pulling hard
if there is a top speed limiter it is in the stock chip. i am not familiar with what that setting is but a custom tuned chip will remove this if it is asked to be removed.i would say 140 is probably stock, the one who posted the 150+ probably has a chip.
Yeah i know the auto's are governed to 127, i have a 95 gt, did some research and thats what i found, and thats where my car stops, just hits a rev limiter. 4500 rpm in 3rd....

People like to ressurect this thread. Well it seems like anything goes down at Ford, but there should be a rev limiter at 6250 rpm also, the stock speedometers are pretty much useless above 100 so I doubt that the speeds people keep reporting are very accurate unless they have an aftermarket speedo.
