What is the stock gear ratio for a 1995 Mustang GTS?

I was wondering what the stock gear ratio was for a 1995 Mustang GTS. I am trying to figure out how much I should increase from my stock ratio for when I purchase my new gears set.

Look for the axle code in the door jamb. It is on the build tag under axle

, and will give a letter code. Get that and get back to us.

well not sure about the GTS but if its got the same engine as me i would assume the same gears... 2.73's...but dont quote me on it.

My axle code was Z....3.08...got 3.73 now

i saw an M under AX im my door jam, but this is on a 96. are the codes still the same? M=2.73

Yep, M= 2.73 for the SN95's

stock gear for '95's were 2.73's. the optional gear ratio for manual equipped mustangs was 3.08's . the optional gear for automatics was 3.27's
the axle tag will read 2L73 if it came equipped with 2.73's
the axle tag will read 3L08 if it came with 3.08's.
the L is for locker / limited-slip.

My GTS came stock with measly 2.73's. They are replaced with 3.73's thank god!
