Default Heat Relax Rear Springs

Any Old-School hot rodders out there that can tell me about relaxing springs with a torch? I put Eibach ProKit on my 95 GT convertible and just about needed a new dentist it rattled my teeth so much driving on Omaha, Ne streets. I talked with Eibach Tech reps about their springs, the "ride quality" and how to improve it; was told "ride quality" is subjective, and the top 5 coils compress completly when loaded to lower the ride height. This design feature leaves 3 coils with a high spring rate to absorb the bumps, dips and buckled pavement. So trimmed the top coil off the stockers and reinstalled...still bouncy but my teeth are fine now. Still want to drop the ride height another inch or so without cutting any more coils from the springs so I'm thinking heat the springs to anneal the steel to reduce the length without a significant change in the spring rate when loaded; probably will reduce the spring rate a bit and remove the hard bounce.

Questions are, 1)how long to torch the springs to hit that magical point of "relaxation"; 2)do it installed or out; 3)loaded or unloaded; 4)air, oil or water cool the hot springs??
