Unhappy A Couple Puzzling Questions

Hey All,
I've got a 1994 GT and encountered something that made me go "hummmm" the other day. I'm curious if anyone knows the answer to this or has encountered the same thing. While driving I started to hear stuff flying apart under my hood. I stopped and found my serpentine belt coming apart, no big deal. I went to the local oil change place since they had one on the shelf and I did not have the time to drive all over town looking for a belt, plus my car would not have made it much further than it did. Here is the strange part, the guy looks up my car's info ('94 GT, 5.0) and come out with a belt. It is WAY smaller than what was left of the old belt. He rechecks his info, and comes back out with what was supposed to be on the Cobra, and it fit perfectly. Anyone have any ideas?
Here's part two of this thread, completely unrelated to the above. My car is Rio Red, which if you don't already know is the flat red, not the metalic red. I've gone to two dealerships in search of touch-up paint. One of these dealers is like the biggest in a six state area or something like that. The parts guy INSISTED he must have the color code from the VIN to properly match the color. He gets the number, orders the paint and it comes in. I had a friend pick it up for me, since I was busy. Well, I end up with Vermillion, which is the metalic red. I go to the dealer the car came from and basically it's the same story, I have two useless tubes of Vermillion red, not Rio Red touch-up paint. To add a twist to this color confusion, after a minor accident, I asked the body shop if the car had been repainted and they assured me it had not been. Are there any other '94/'95 Rio Red Mustang owners out there that have run into this problem? I would really like to get to the bottom of this one since I've got several unsightly chips that I would like to repair. I've even seriously considered using my fiancee's nail polish since it is a much closer match than what the dealers seem to be able to provide. HELP!!!
Thanks in advance!!!
Happy Motoring!!!

I don't know for sure, but I believe that the drive belt for a GT and Cobra engine for that year is the same. The shorter belt issue happened to me too, I think they might have been Mustangs that came out of the factory without Air Conditioner, so maybe they use a shorter belt. Every time that I go to buy a belt they ask me if the car has "factory installed AC".
The thing with the paint. Check the tag in the driver side door, where the weight of the car and all that stuff is, and look for the color code, I think E8 or E9. One of those is the color code for your car.

My car is Rio Red and I couldn't find touch up paint at the auto parts stores. The dealeship that is one of the largest in the area had to special order the color. I am pretty sure it is code E8. I never had the serpentine belt problem before, but since removing the smog pump and putting on March underdrive pullies I had to run a shorter belt a K6886 size.

Thanks for the responses...
I guess now that I think about it, the belt issue could be A.C. related. Although I find it hard to believe anyone would order or buy a car without A.C. (keep in mind I'm in KY. where we do get up in the 90's + in the summer)
As far as the touch-up is concerned, both dealers checked the code on the inside of my door before they ordered the paint, they both said they could NOT order the paint without that code. Well, I'll try again and tell who ever I go to that the code is E8 or E9, but the color is Rio Red, NOT Vermillion. And, I may donate my two useless tubes of Vermillion.
Thanks Again,
