I have been wondering why everyone seems to go with such a big maf such as an 80mm when most of them run 70mm or 75mm throttle bodies. It seems to me that the maf would only need to be as big as the throttle body. Maybe someone can explain this to me because there must be a reason for it.
There is really no reason, actually too large a maf will cause bad MAF readings.
The air passing through a very large MAF will slow down, causing turbulence.
The best is to stick with a MAF close to the TB size, you if you use a 70mm TB go with a 73mm MAF.
Thanks, that is what I thought about it but it seems everyone is running a much bigger maf than the throttle body. I am going to use a 70mm throttle body unless I figure out a better size to use, and I will try a maf just a tad bit bigger like you said. Thanks again
