Default Flaming compressor

Hey guys, I'm not sure exactly how the compressor clutch works but mine caught on fire. I'll try to paint you a picture as best I can. Imagine the front of the compressor, there's a triangleish plate that squeezes the pulley when the compressor is engaged. Holding that plate there are three bolts and there are bushings around the ends of the bolts...just go look at your car. Well mine burnt up and fell off so now there's just three rods sticking out the front of the pulley. Is there a way to replace just those bushings/bolts or do I need to replace the clutch? Let me know if you have no idea what I'm talking about and I'll try and take pictures.

Wow..burnt compressor, thats new to me, but my guess is that the clutch failed, that caused the overheating, i wonder if the compressor is still ok.

Better go to an A/C specialist..

Upon further review, the compressor and clutch still work the way they should. I think the little rubber pieces are just kind of padding against the clutch and plate to keep them from rattling and vibrating and stuff. To be safe I'm not using my a/c until it's fixed but I think I'm just gonna go to the hardware store and rig something up. I would also still like to know why it got so hot.
