Default Switching to 3.73s

I have a stock 95 GT 5 speed, with CAI, and flowmaster mufflers. When i put in my 3.73 gears, how much should my quarter mile, or 0-60 time imporve?

What do you mean "because you will simply be able to make traction"?

You will feel a difference in acceleration off the line but your not going to be knocking off any significant amount of time off your 1/4 or 0-60. When your making more hp it will be a better improvement.

Hey quicksilver, I have a 95 gt 5spd and put in 3.73's, I ran a 14.2 with just the gears, h-pipe,U/D pulleys and timing advanced to 12 degrees. The gears made more difference than any mod I've done to this date, and I would also recommend the FRPP 3.73's, they may not be any better than anything else but I've always had great luck with them. Hope this helps.

For me the 3.73s took 2 tenths off my 1/8 mile time. If I would have ever ran a 1/4 it probably would have been 3 or 4 tenths. I hope this helps! BTW the car is a blast to drive after the new gears.

I just had a set of 3.73 installed on my 95 GT today and I dont really notice a difference except the car is reving quicker. The car doesn't seem to GO any faster(low rpm range). I thought they would give me alittle more low end acceleration but not in my case. Maybe because its wet out. I'll test her again tomorrow. Their might just be something wrong with the car.

Have you gotten your Speedo calibrated yeat? if not get the Brothers Performance speed calibrator....easy to install and works wonderfully.... if you have a manual you'll prolly have a 8T drive gear and if you get the 23T driven gear it'll be a little off. I was told this by a mechanic and i saw it somewhere online.
Peace

The 23T drive gear was installed the same time as the gears. Its probably something with the tuning. Ive tried several things but there is still things ive read on this site that I could do. Looks like this weekend will be a busy one for me. Sorry QUIK dont want to jack your thread just stating some problems I had with my install.

Yeah I am looking forward to installing my FRRP 3.73's here soon.
Just back from another trip to the middle east, and I can now afford the swap out..
