Default can these dyno numbers be right?

I took my car to blood enterprises auburn wa. to get a chip burnt and a dyno tune. First off they had the car for two weeks. The dyno sheets they gave me were from the first two days they had it. These numbers seem low to me. 240rwhp@5250 263rwtq@4250 This was on a mustang dyno the guy told me to add 10% to the numbers because it is a load cell dyno. The pulls were in third gear. I have stock gears. My mods are in the sig. Do these numbers sound right. The AFR started at 12.25 and went to 12.75 and than stayed at about 12.50. They did 5 pulls in all. I do want to say that the chip and tune got 17rwhp and 22rwtq.

The Mustang chassis dyno does give lower numbers than a dynojet. I had my 05 dyno'd and got 260rwhp and 285 peak torque. I looked it up and found an article about dynos in I think it was popular hot rodding. If I remember correctly you add 10 to 15% to get equivalent number. The article I read did say that the mustang dyno more accurately reflects the real world.

To me that seems really low.....

How fast does the car seem to feel?
I've got a 95 GT slightly less modified than yours, have you ran it at the strip against anything else to get an idea of what you should have...??
If im not mistaken a stock 95 was rated at 215hp at the wheels, i would think all your mods would make quite a bit more than that....

how is the state of your "tune"? i mean you plugs, timming, o2's and the like. our computers don't like to be neglected. they are sensitive to sensor condition and base timming. are you using the stock T.B.?

Forget about the T.B., i missed that in you sig. Doesn't the March CAI use part of the stock intake tract? if so i'd get a better intake kit. I though dyno pulls were made in 4th gear for a 1:1 ratio. i have never heard of pulling in 3rd on any dyno.

Afriend of mine said that to. I dont know. The dyno sheets say 32* total timing.

The numbers are a bit low, but DYNO HP NUMBERS are not exactly "true" hp figures. There are many factors that affect a dyno session. Use the numbers as a TUNING AID, nothing else. REAL numbers are seen at the track.

I dynoed 256 rwhp and 278 lbs of torque on a dynojet with ported GT40 irons, stock cam, 1.6rrs, my own custom program with the eectuner, explorer intake, 70mm Tb, ported maf, 19 injectors, and custom made CAI (95 GT with U4P0 EEC).

Take into account the conditions at the time, was it hot? humidity? altitude?
If the dyno is not correctly calibrated (has to be done more less often) then the numbers can go up or down.
Theres also the test, why the hell did they test it in 3rd? has to be 4th gear, lower gears give lower numbers.
The gains from the chip are VERY DECENT, 17rwhp is about 20 to the crank, no that bad really. Probably can get a little more by leaning or more timing.

Next time, be there for the test

I called them about the dyno pulls in third gear they told me they did that because 308 gears are going to get the dyno going to fast. I have new plugs (autolight) new plug wires (ford racing 9mm) new cap and rotor, new fuel filter, stock fuel pump. 10*base timing.
took it to the track last night!!!
best pass
r/t .265
60' 2.19
330 6.00
1/8 9.09
mph 79.24
1000 11.76
1/4 14.00
mph 100.64
before last night best pass 14.64 The chip and tune was worth the money. I geuss people are right when they say dyno numbers dont mean much. once I learn how to drive a little better Ill get 13s with it. next are gears and sub frame connectors. Than some sticky tires for the track.

Told you

BTW...my dyno pulls were with 3.27 at 115 MPH.
And a friend did 125+mph with 3.08s

...scary but can be done

...Speaking of dynoing....

I had my 94 chassis dyno'ed on a new Superflow last Thursday. I am pretty sure something is wrong with his calibration, but he said that he just had it done.

I ended up with a whopping 157 RWH (5200 RPMS) and 172 RWT (4200 RPMS). He showed me sheets from a 04 Mach 1 that he had just done with a small nitrous kit and that guy got 191 RWH. Also, the dyno guy's truck is a 5.4 03 1/2 ton 2 wheeler with a supercharger (6psi) and he got 182 RWH out of that.

All of the pulls we made were in 4th gear up to 6200 RPMS (about 120 MPH).

A friend of mine has a 95 GT (AOD) with similar mods dyno'ed his somewhere else and he ended up somewhere in the 240-250 range (I don't remember exactly). That is where I figured I would be. He told me to chip it for "huge" performance gains, but I can't believe it is gonna make more than 15-20 more hp (probably 5 more on the dyno I used). I was thinking about getting a TwEEcer.

I have raced a couple new Mach 1's (stock), and I haven't lost yet. I can't believe 3 gears of rubber translates into 157 HP. Sounds like numbers from a Cavalier or a Honda.

Something seems a bit fishy.....

Looks like you got about the same set up as me I wuold think you would have close to the same numbers as me. I dont know about huge preformance gains but the drivability from my chip is pretty nice.

I was figuring about the same hp as you.

I have a little bit of a rich bottom and a lean top currently. Did you have this at all? I was hoping a chip/TwEEcer would take care of it. I did get my idle surge fixed finally after messing with the TPS for an eternity so driveability isn't terrible anymore.

Good luck.
