Is there anyway to check if the Mass Air Flow Sensor is working properly? I have unplugged it and plugged it back in while the car is running and there is absolutely no change in the idle or anything about the engine. I have a 94' GT Automatic. 65mm T/B, BBK Cold Air Intake. Im looking to buy a new 75mm Pro-M mass air meter. let me know what the best Mass air meter out there is? any help would be GREAT!!!
Idle might not change much but rev it up and it will sputter like crazy.
And you dont need a larger MAF with those mods..at least wait untill you get heads and cam, thats the restriction on the 5.0, you will gain zero from it. And when you do change it, make sure you have it calibrated with a chip.
There is no such thing as a calibrated maf, what ProM does is change the stock electronics to modify the voltage, this only fools the EEC but it is not as efficient as changing the EEC calibration.
C&L "calibrates" with a sample tube, this changes the air that passes through the sensor, just a mechanical way of fooling the EEC.
I think i jumped ahead of myself! and installed 24lb injectors. So now i pretty much HAVE to buy something thats calibrated for the 24lb vs my stock 19lb injectors.
Pro-m is not out of buisness .. two guys took it over ,the site is Pro M Racing - Mass Air Induction Systems ... know your facts before speaking , you can make yourself look dumb that way
Don't insult one of the Administrators here... and when he made that post, it was 2005 and Pro M was temporarily out of business at that time. The name is back now, and doing better than before.

On that note, does anyone know if the MAF sensor can be tested?
While I'm at it, would a defective MAF sensor cause the car to stall when I give it even a little bit of gas off from the light? It's not every time, but seems to be really bad some days, to mediocre, to seldom in a day.
Hey Yas. I am in no way anykind of expert, but I think you might probably have a better chance of more help if you post your question in the V6 forum area. This is the 5.0 area. Although I bet most of the guys with any kind of automotive knowledge could help you out right here. Unlike me, a backyard mechanic in training too.
And I know you'll find your answer eventually, cause these guys know their stuff.
First thing to try would be cleaning the mass air element. There's some mass air element cleaner, use it and a Q tip, be very easy with it and clean it off. What you describe sounds like that could be the problem. If not, I could give you MAS tests you can do.
