Default Cam swap question.

I have my engine torn down for my HCI swap. I'm down to the harmonic balancer and pulley.

My question is, how do I remove the bolts holding the balancer and pulley on? The crank just wants to spin? Is there a way to hold the crank (without pulling the tranny so I can have a friend hold the flywheel)?

I appreciate any suggestions.

Take the inspection plate off under the bellhousing to expose the flywheel or flexplate. Then, take a small chisel and put it between the teeth of the flywhell/flexplate and the engine block, to hold it in place while breaking loose the front nut on the Harmonic Balancer. Do the same when tightening.

Where is the inspection plate?

BTW, I just put it in gear, and that solved the issue.
