bad gas smell coming from exhaust, any ideas?

Ok, after i advanced my timing to 12* i had my friend rev the engine while i was behind it, and it smelled like i poured gas on my tailpipes. And when i was at the track a few weeks ago, there was black smoke coming from the exhaust. Does anybody have any ideas on what would be causing it to run that rich?, and i am getting a msd coil in thursday to power the platinum plugs, which might not be getting enough spark?.. any ideas?

nope, stock everything, still got the orange 19# injectors and the stock 4-cat, h pipe, soon to be replaced with a bassani x pipe. and the weird thing is, i still get about 17 - 18 mpg, with some highway.

is there fuel in the vacuum line from the F/P Reg?

i haven't checked the fuel pressure in my car, i hope it is still good, since it only has 70,000 miles on it. The car was salvaged, so i don't know if anything major was replaced on it, it was hit in the front/ frame bent/ replaced with all ford parts, you can't even tell.
and the car isn't missing at all.
