Exclamation Thumping noise in Rear end....

Hello to all...New to the forum, (But belong to another popular Mustang Forum). I have a question and need some help....

I recently put on an h pipe, and a cat back....everything was perfect for about 2 weeks..

Now when i drive the car normal..everything is fine, but when i get on it..(Especialy when from a stop and turning)...i hear a thumping from the rear of the vehicle! It sounds like someone is in the trunk with a dead blow hammer and pounding on the floor pan.

i cant really tell if this is related to the exhuast....cuz when the car is on a lift, the suspension drops.

anyone ever hear of this....i was thinking could i have worn upper or lowwer bushings?...or are my quad shocks bad, and allow the rear end to move....Thanks in advance for all your help.

It's the tailpipes hitting the gas tank and chassis. When you corner it's swaying and hitting things and when you get on it, it's the torque of the engine that kind of twists the pipes. You need to rotate the tailpipes where they fit into the muffler to keep them away from what theyre hitting.

I had the same sound when i got my exaust done. At first I thought i had a dead body in the trunk lol. It turned out the Flowmaster catback would hit the rear axle when going over bumps and turning . The catback is too short, it just clears the axle leaving no room for movement. Mine was so bad it would rattle in neutral when reving the engine. Take it back to where you got it installed and give them ****. Hope this helps
