Default Saleen S351 Upper/Lower

Hey I just bought an (orginal) '97 Saleen S351 upper and lower and I want to bolt it on to my 95 GT H.O. What do I need? Telling from what I see from my lower there is a part that comes out of the lower on the front side. I think its for the coolant. The Saleen lower doesn't have it. Will my stock one bolt on to the saleen lower, again I think its for the coolant because a big coolant hose goes to it on the stock. Also there are some bolt on things like a sensor or two near the throttle body bolted on by brackets n such. Will these bolt on to the S351 upper? What else am I looking into as far as the small parts I may need for those small bolt on items for the intake from the stock? Please help me I want to get started. Thanks? Please take the time if you can. Thanks. OH and one of the intake upper and lower will be for sale either stock or Saleen based on whether or not I can get the thing bolted in. OH how much HP would I hope to gain from stock upper/lower and tb, to a saleen S351 upper lower which has been extrude honed and a 65 mm tb????

You cannot put a 351W lower EFI intake on a 302. It's too wide.

Do they make a lower that will fit the S351 upper? Yeah I just noticed that looking at some pics that the lowers are different sizes. The holes where the air flows is different too. HELP!!!!

The 'early' S351 lower intake was a factory truck unit. Don't know when, or even if that ever changed.

You could always buy a 351 to put under your new intake.

Question Saleen S351 gasket? Is it a GT-40 gasket???

Okay, Does the Ford Saleen S351 upper intake use the regular GT-40 gasket. Does anyone know. Will it fit a 94 95 cobra/GT-40 lower to put it on my 95 GT 302 5.0???? What type of gasket does the S351 upper use??? I need to know anyone??? who has worked on a S351.

The (truck-style) S351, Cobra, and GT-40 intake all have offset runners, unlike the stock runner than are in a straight line.

But the (truck-style) S351 runners are square and the Cobra/GT-40 runners are round.

the saleen 5.8 intake is the same one used on the 95 cobra. What you have is the GT-40 upper w/ saleen coverplate. The lower is an aluminum marine intake for the 351. It was manufactured for the 93-95 Lightnings. If you want to use this intake, just buy a 351 OR buy the GT-40 lower for the 5.0(and yes they use the samegasket). Also if this is an original Saleen intake, there should be 1" welded into the plenum. any Qs write fomoco85@yahoo.com

In 94-96 Saleen welded the one inch spacer in. After 96 they did not. Also, not all the intakes were extrude honed. The upper is a 93 Cobra style upper. The Marine GT40 intake is actually mad eof iron. The Lightning is the only one made from aluminum. All S-351 lowers are the same. None had square runners.
