Post ignition module question

hello,

I have yet another question.

On a 95 GT, the ignition module is located on the passenger side fender well. How can the ignition module overheat, causing the car to cut-out while driving, or at times not to start at all?

I read the posts similar to this one, but i cannot figure out the problem.

Is there a problem in my distributor? The stator maybe? I just cannot figure out the problem, and my car is in need of help.

If anyone has any ideas, or knows what the problem may be; please inform me.

Thank you

Those modules sometimes heat-fail also. They dont get hot only from the heat of the engine. The fact they are switching current on/off many times per second generates their own internal heat.

Cool had the same problem

the hall effect sensor replaced the old style staters there in the distributor they don,t cost a lot but you have to pull the distributor out and remove the gear and slide the shaft out to replace it. or buy a rubuilt distributor " a little more then a hundred bucks and replace the whole thing. thats what I did. mine had around 150 thousand on it so I figured the bushen were wore but when I got it out they were in really good shape but I already had the other so I went ahead with the change. Hope this helps:thumbsup
