Default problem installing offroad h pipe

I set out to install my mac offroad h pipe today. I sprayed PB blaster on the manifold(header) to converter pipe nuts and about an hour later I tried to remove but none of the 4 would budge even using an impact wrench...what do I do now?? cut the studs off and reinstall new ones or what? Any answers greatly appreciated!

You couldn't get them off even with an impact gun??? Even if they were seized up they'd usually break. What gun are you using and at what pressure??? If you have to take a torch to them, but be really careful and mind your surroundings as far as wires and fuel lines go. I'd spray them a few more times with PB and then kick that gun into high gear.....good luck.

My 95 gt was the same way when we put my offroad pipe on.... We had to torch some of the bolts out because they were rusted on so tight It's quite do-able just be careful

Thumbs down

I have a $150 craftsman impact wrench set at 90psi so I think these are too rusty to break loose

Borrow a Snap-On impact. It will take off any bolt you have or break it off in the process. There are certainly some tools that arent worth buying high end - like wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers - but for some (impacts, air ) it isnt worth wasting your money on the cheaper stuff. Not saying craftsman isnt good - especially for the average homeowner - but its just not the best when it comes to heavy duty stuff. Just my opinion...

FWIW - After I got my studs out, I drilled the holes and installed bolts/nuts. This way they will never give me a problem again - I can cut them and easily replace them anytime. Or, if I break them out, Im ready to go with dropping some new bolts in.
