My wifes 94 GT 5 speed sometimes and( getting more frequent ) while sitting at idle will almost die then the rpms will spike to around 1k then settle back to normal. Thought it might be the idle air control valve but after doing a search i'am confused as some talk about the tps,mass air, and the iac.

Most probably the IAC or mass air dirty.

The TPS is not adjustable as in the Fox Mustangs, so i dont think it is that.

Clean the IAC and MAF.
