I got a '95 5.0 AOD that is having some problems. The car is running extremely rough; idles very irratic, will not rev past 3k, and while driving has no power whatsoever. Other symptons are; when you press the gas pedal to the floor the rpms will not take off, there is at minimum a 2 or 3 second delay before it tries to rev and it struggles just to get to 3k. The check engine light came on so I hooked up a scanner and it was showing that the left and right cylinder banks was running lean. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and found that I was only running 25psi of pressure. I replaced it with a new Waldon intank pump, took care of the fuel pressure problem but still has not cured any of the other problems. I pulled the exhaust off the manifolds thinking that the converters were plugged (original exhaust on car), started the car up and had the same problems. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
You don't want to run it without the O2s. Might take a while for it to learn to run right. You put a new fuel filter on? How are the plugs?

Waiting to go on: Granatelli lower control arms, and GT40 Iron heads!
The plugs, plug wires, cap, and fuel filter are all newer (3-4 months). I just dropped the exhaust about 3 to 4 inches away from the outlet on the manifolds just to see if it would make a difference.

I cleaned mine when it ran rough with electronics cleaner. Its a spray to get all the gunk off of the fillament looking things. The mass air sensor is in the air cleaner. You need a special screw driver I forgot what you call it but its two screws then take it out very carefully. Spray it a couple times, then let it dry. Put it back in. If this doesn't solve your problem then it is still good you did this. Makes your car run smoother and the auto will shift better.
Ok i just had this problem check this;
pull off the distributor cap and look for any black dust. your rotor vane could be hitting the magnetic sensor inside the distributor. the sensor should be stable and not loose. let me know what you find. Also theres a box on the passenger side of the radiator above the ABS junk called the CCRM "command control relay module"they are notorious for going out on the 95`s at about your mileage. This module has some control over your fuel delivery. Hope this helps
start by looking 4 loose or cracked vacum lines. after that c if egr valve functioning properly. if neither are the case most probably need 2 replace intake gaskets under plenum.
Clogged Injector is a possibility. Do you run cheap gas? Have you checked your timing? Make sure all your plug wires are in good shape and spray quick start fluid on your vacuum lines, this will tell you if you have a leak anywhere. As far as the screws on the mass air, they are called torx heads.

Yes, torx heads/bits, but make sure you get the security torx bits. They have a whole in the middle of them. LoL just thought I'd throw that in there...
