i just recently purchased a 95 5.0 and the dash lights and controls were working fine.one day i was driving and they just started flickering and then they just stopped working(tach,spedo,trip miles).It is very weird what is happing though.when im driving and press the brakes real hard they flicker and come on for a sec same thing happens with the gas.but only when i am moving.the dash lights also dont work.neither do the running lights on the back of the car.but the brake lights do.plz help me with this somebody.and i dont know where any of the fuses are because it says u have to have the owners manual.i know where the fuse pannels are just not the location of the dash lights fuse.

look guys i would really appreciate some help on this....fuse diagram or something.here is a more detailed list of electrical things not working in my car.

clock
running lights/parking lights front and rear
oil pressure gauge
fuel gauge
volt gauge
dash illumination
ac controls illumination
cruise control
spedometer
tach
(no dash is working)

my brake lights do work along with my hazards and high beams.and like i said when i slam on the brakes when in motion the dash lights start to flicker (check engine lights ect.) and the tach goes up and down for a second.same thing when i hit the gas at a higher rpm.

any help on this or ideas would be greatly appreciated.i'm kinda pissed since i just bought the car and all of this is happining.so thanks in advance for any help.

First off, I hate when stuff like this happens to new 5.0 friends. Well I don't have a fuse diagram, but all you should do is check to see and make sure none of them are burnt. They all have a purpose, so every owner should check them periodically, just like the oil. Now there is one area under the dash near the steering wheel and also, one underneith the hood on the driverside. They are both boxes where the top must be popped. This can be done by hand. Just check all of them with a flashlight or pull them out one by one and make sure they are not fried. Let me know how this works. Sometimes old wiring shorts out for some reason and that is what the fuses are for. This is your best bet. OH, don't be discouraged. We are all here to help. Let us know how you are doing.

well now it's really getting weird.found the problem for the gas gauge and the stock tach.there was a aftermarket autometer tach installed and ran to the fuse panel so they bought this double fuse thing that has 2 fuses in place of one so that add an accesory (the aftermarket tach) dont ask why it was hooked up this way but it is(not the way i would of hooked it up) so now the tach works along with some other gauges.but the spedo still doesent work.BUT THEY WENT OUT AT THE EXACT SAME TIME!!!seems like if the tach is now working everything else should be too...any ideas????and i don't belive the rear running lights have anything to do with the dash issue.because i dont thing they were working before the dash went out.and i know for a fact that the dash illumination wasent working when the rest of the dash was.HELP!!
