Default Difference Between 95 Gt and 95 Cobra

Hey Guys, im very very new to the mustang world. Ive had an 12.6 dodge dakota, and a 12.9 grand prix gtp. Never a mustang. Well i just purchased a 1995 silver mustang gt. I really wanted a 5.0 cobra, but it wasnt really in the price range i had in mind. My question is what is the difference between a gt 5.0 and a cobra 5.0.

Also, i dont really know an order to go in as far as modding my car. I wanna put a short shifter and a new clutch on my car, but after that im not to sure.

Another question, What Actually qualifies my mustang as a "steeda", or "roush."

Thanks guys, i appreciate takin the time with me.

The 95 Cobra had a unique nose with round fog lights versus rectangular for the Gt. Cobra badges on the fenders versus Gt emblems. Leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob and parking brake (parking brake is Cobra only on the leather). Rear spoiler LED lamp versus GT's deck lid non LED. Magnesium front seat cushion frames on Cobra. 160 mph speedo on white versus 150 on black for GT. Cobra floormats and reflector headlights on Cobra. Gt 40 motor in Cobra versus 5.0 HO 240hp versus 215. Cobra motor was actually closer to 265-270. 17" wheels on Cobra versus 16 on GT. Bigger brakes on Cobra 13 inch fronts, 11.65 rear with standard ABS. The Gt had 10.8 front and 10.5 rear with single pistons versus the Cobra's dual pistons, ABS was an option on the GT. Cobra chassis was tuned more than the GT. Sorry about the grammar butchery but I was in a hurry.

Sorry I hadn't answered all your questions. Go for intake and exhaust mods and gears in your quest for a quicker car. A K&N intake and a good flowing exhaust will make it come alive. Deeper gears like 3.55 or 3.73 will wake it up as well. A Steeda, Roush, Saleen etc. are speciality mustangs created by speciality shops just like Shelby did and is doing today. You can order Many of these speciality cars directly from a dealership. I have a Saleen dealer just down the road but I'm sure he could order a Roush, Foosh, Steeda, Shelby whatever if a pony up some big bling. The cars are basically GT's with substantial mods do to them. You can mod until your wallet breaks or you can get a basic package which will still set you back beyond a standard Gt. The idea is you have a unique car that will someday be worth more than standard Ford fare.

Check the classifieds on all the popular mustang forums. Heads, cams, and intake manifolds are a dime a dozen out there for the 5.0 and can be had pretty cheap for serious power. Superchargers and Turbo setups are also out there pretty cheap, just depends how far you want to go with it.
