Default newb with a 94 Gt

I am about to purchase my first 5.0 Stang. i have a 99 cobra already, but i wanted something that i could really build up for less money than it would take to do a mod motor. i know that the first coulple of mods that i will do will be the standard ones( gears, Exhaust, cold air, shifter, ect)after the motor is built, is there any know common issues with the 94/95 cars? i thought i remember someone telling me the computers were no good. Anywho, just looking for some advice from the people that know the most about this. The car is currently a 94 GT, but it won't be long until it is a cobra(intake, heads ect) Thanks in advance

Definitely, do the gears first. I've done alot of work on my 95, and rwhp still sucks. Other than that, I've pushed my car pretty hard and not had any problems with it.

The computers are a little sensative to certain mods like a cam, but for the most part arent that bad.

I just have a 2.5 catback in my 94 Vert GT with automatic and tried it with a G-tech a few days ago. I got 7.55 sec 0-60 and high 15/ 90 mph on the quartermile, pretty bad. Howevever this is more or less what it should be, when Road and track tested them back in Jan 1995 they say that they are doing 0-60 in 7.5 sec and the quartermile on 15.7/90mph. I have a set of 3.73 gears in the garage which I will mount soon. I think it is a good start, then som pullies, cold air and headers. A shift kit for 100 bucks would probably also make quite a difference. Then it starts to cost money, but speed costs always money....but it 's a lot of fun.
