Default AODE trouble! Any ideas?

I have a 94 mustang GT with a whole list of bolt ons. But I took a long trip from central IL to Little Rock, AR and something weird happened on that trip. On the way home around St. Louis I was cruising down Interstate around 75 mph and all of a sudden it felt like someone shut the AODE button off that is located next to the shifter. Going from about 2,000 rpm to about 3,500-4,000. I had a B&M shift kit installed by a certified technician, but every once in a while it does the same thing.
Cruising just fine no sliping, no banging, shifts great. But every once in a while it just seems to slip out of overdrive? And then about 2 seconds later kicks back into overdrive like nothing has happened at all.
I have tried reading forums before and saw similiar problems, but no one with this exact problem. So if anyone knows anything a sensor replacement, fluid change, transmission rebuild let me know because it is starting to become very frustrating!
Thanks a lot!

You didnt mention how many miles are on the tranny but it sounds like the clutches and bands are wearing down/out, thats why its slipping in and out of 4th. (OD) And if thats the case the only fix will be a rebuild or new tranny.

I had the same exact problem with mine. I changed the fluid and filter and it went away, no more problems. It took about 300 miles, since then, no problems what so ever.

Thats exactly what happened with my 1992 Mustang. Started off happening occasionally and over time it just got worse. Eventually, overdrive finally gave out and I ended up replacing the transmission. This is a common problem with the AOD transmission. The overdrive band is extremely weak. I ended up going with a LenTech transmission because the AOD's they build do not have the overdrive problems.
