Default the smaller motor will rev faster.

boost happens high in the rpm range. build, and use parts that allow the engine to rev high, and fast the quickest. high rev cam light weight crank and valve train. with a 302 or 331 under boost it will last longer than a 347 or 392.
i would use a 392 N/A but if you want to make insane power were you have no traction or its just plain scary to drive go all out and add 13 lb of boost !!! rest in pieces.

The 331 will last longer than a 347 whether or not it is under boost, because of the more severe rod angle of the 347. 347's just dont last as long, because the rings wear a lot faster, requiring more frequent rebuilds for the 347. If you just want the cubic inches, go with the 342 since it is a standard bore and it will allow you to go 0.30 over when you do rebuild.

mrmustang-I suck on knowledge of engins ect. but i have never even heard of a 342?(did you mean when it is time to rebuild the 331 i can make it a 342?) now that everybody is saying what they are i think when i do purchase my engine i wil go with the 331. my 95 is not going to be a full race car by any means but i think i will be more thn happy with a 331 for a weekend drag car/daily driver(especially if supercharged) how much aprox.hp do you think i would be making supercharged/unsupercharged running about 10psi bost when supercharged. thanks for your input
