I was wondering if anyone has tried to install a mach 460 sound system in a basic 1995 5 speed GT with mechanical windows? I wonder if its possible to retrofit my car and fit the front doors speakers with the tweeters without cuting the door material. I saw a nice kit on ebay but i really dont know if its going to be a piece of cake installing it. Thanks!

what do u mean a basic gt ??? i have a 94 gt with power windows and the mach 460 sound system. was it an option in 94-95 to have it because ive seen a lot of mustangs with and without cd players and mine doesnt have, I actually bought the cd player and the harness but the damn harness didnt work because a is cable broken and on ebay they cost 100 bucks just the damn cables..

In my 1995 GT i dont have power windows and i didn't have a mach 460 when i bought the car. I know that the harness is not there at all. I only have a cassette deck in the car. So i wonder if the mach 460 sound system would fit in the car with the actual inside of the doors as an example.

well your car is a 1995 gts isnt it ?? those came without a spoiler, power windows. power locks,and power seat, so its lighter than any other 94-95 gt. but i think it should fit right in as it is the same as other mustangs..

I put a mach 460 system in mine.It wasn't that hard,but you need the complete system.It has a different amp inside the console,an extra wire harness that goes to the back for the rear box that goes under the package shelf(has 4 speakers and 2 amps,runs all the way side to side enclosed in 1 box)The wires for the door post/mirror mounted tweeters are there (taped to the door panel speaker wires).The tweeters themselve will not fit w/o modification because the door panels on a factory equipped car are notched for them to fit down in there a bit.I used a dremmel tool and cut the bottom of the speaker housing down to sit on top of the panel and fed the wires down into the door panel(I disassembeled them b4 cutting so I wouldn't cut anything important)---Works great
