Default smog pump remove or not?

I bypassed the smog pump some time back, i was wondering what would happen if i compleatly remove it and its hoses, i really want to get rid of the extra weight, will i get a computer code? will this lead to any problems? the car runs fine without it, but the hoses are still in place.

Other than emissions you wont have any negative effects from removing it. If it were currently hooked up and running I would suggest leaving it alone because it doesnt hurt your power by any significant amount, but you say that it hasnt been running so chances are it might already be toast from not turning. The weight is a slight issue but unless you are building an all out drag car I would save yourself the hassle. maybe if you ever go with an alternator tensioner setup, that would be a good time to yank it.

And you will get a couple codes by removing it but nothing that will have any effect.
