Default stage 8 locking header bolts?

Whats up everyone? Got another question to ask. I just bought a set of the ford racing stage 8 locking header bolts for my automatic 94 mustang. The after market headers I bought were the cheap of the cheap, the $130 pair from flowtech. I know, stupid, stupid, stupid. But the thing is that when I tried to put them on, there was not enough space between the exaust port on the header and the bolt hole to fit the lock/washer portion on when the bolts are torqued all the way down. So is it just the cheap way the headers are made, or are they just supposed to be used on ford racing headers. Also, I want to upgrade to a pair of mac long tube headers and don't want to make a purchase if they aren't going to work. So has anyone attempted putting these on with the fasteners I have?
Thanks,
94mustang

First off, MAC sucks. I have a set of stage 8's and they work fine on my headers (mac for the time being)
