Okay guys, i've got a question for you all. What year was the fastest stock 5.0 produced and what year was the slowest 5.0 produced, and what year is your favorite.

slowest meaning 0 to 60 or even 1/4 mile times from a factory stock 5.0 straight outta ford. knowing the horsepower as well would also be nice.

i believe the 94-95 5.0's were the slowest due to the increase in weight in the SN95. I think the 1989 was the quickest (excluding cobras). The 5.0 ditched its forged internals in 92 i think

i'm gonna have to disagree with u the mustang gt 94-95 were and are fasters than 86-93 gt mustangs.. the 94-95 gt mustangs do 0 to 60 in 6 flats and 1/4 in low 14's.... with the little mods that i have, i have timed my car from 0 to 60 in 5.76's

couldnt agree more. in 93 they went to hypereutectic pistons.
i personally have never seen a bone stock 94-95 5.0 spank a stock 87-92 5.0. when i got my 89 GT back in 2000 it had 95K on it, still had 2.73 stock gears with a trashed 5 speed. went to the track the next day and ran a 14.8 1/4 time. mind you this car has no mods, the air silencer was still hooked up. friend of mine owned a 88 5.0 coupe with SD, had a 5 speed, 3.08 gears, no mods, ran a 14.0 flat in the 1/4 and his motor had around 145K at the time.
the lowest 1/4 time ive seen a 94-95 5.0 go was 15.3 secs. so to say a stock 94-95 vs a stock 87-92 5.0 that the 94-95 is faster is just imaginary.
oh btw , reason i didnt list the 93 in with the foxes vs SN is that the 93 engine is basically the same as the 94-95 5.0, degraded in power and has junk pistons.

that page is so wrong, i've got the milestone poster wich i bought from ford and the 94gt mustangs does 0 to 60 in 6.2 and 1/4 mile in 14.3. of course the covertibles are a little bit slower.
I have the 94 gt convertible, how much slower is it from the hardtop?

Fastest/quickest would be an '87-'88 (and '89 49-state) SD coupe or a '93 Cobra. One built well from the factory and with a good driver could net high 13s.
Slowest would depend on what you want to put under the umbrella of a "5.0". Ford had been using that designation for the 302 engine since the late '70s. And the '79 Mustang had "5.0" emblems on its fenders just as the '82-'93 5.0L Mustangs did. A 140 HP '79 5.0L Mustang is surely slower than the heaviset of SN95 5.0Ls.

no, just excluding cobras and other special vehicle team versions, in other words, none that are supercharged
