Default AODE unwanted downshift
HI
I have a 95 mustang with the AODE. The transmission downshift when I am driving at different speed and then will return to the correct gear. It might even shift to netural but I am not sure on this. The trans fluid is new the car has about 60K miles. Any ideas

That is exactly what happened with my 1992 Mustang. Started off happening occasionally and over time it just got worse. Eventually, overdrive finally gave out and I ended up replacing the transmission. This is a common problem with the AOD transmission. The overdrive band is extremely weak. I ended up going with a LenTech transmission because the AOD's they build do not have the overdrive problems.
