Exclamation Installed C&L MAF on 1994 Mustang GT. Now Check Engine Light Coming On!

I FITTED A C&L 76MM MAF,ELBOW, 70MM T/BODY. the car starts great and idles fine. when I take it for run and open the throttle the check engine light comes on?? It runs great though, any suggestions guys and how to fix?? Should I not be driving it until fixed??

I believe your MAF sets the CEL on. Tuner or take it to auto zone to get the CEL cleared. I think...

Did you add bigger fuel injectors? when ever you add air you have to add fuel also. go with the 40lb injectors and a high performance fuel pump!!

40# injectors is waaay too high for an otherwise stock motor other than an Intake/TB combo.

Personally if it's running lean (IF It's running lean, 19 lbs should still keep up with those 2 mods) then get a fuel regulator and bump up the pressure in the fuel rails 6-8 psi.

Edit: As far as the problem, check the Diagnostic Code - http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/445.shtml

That will tell you far more than any of us can and can give you an idea of where to start.

Off the top of my head if everything is hooked up right and the only time the CEL is coming on is when you hit the gas... I'd have to lean toward the TPS not being set properly.

the problem is 94-95 are touchy when u play with air and fuel mixture

95/5.0 Long tube headers, xpipe, flowmasters, with dumps, 9mm plugg wires, msd cap and rotor, 70mm tb, trick flow intake manifold, under drive pullys, smog elim kit. summit coil, subframe connectors, summit double roller timing chain, and a cam not sure what for cam bc it was in the car when i purchesed it!

Guys I adjusted the TPS to .98 and the check engine light has not come on now. I have a fuel pressure reg which I'll fit this week. I still think she's running a little lean on the fuel side. Boy the C&l kits are great and the BBK throttle body whistles like a supercharger What psi should I adjust my reg to? Is that 6-8 psi per injector? I was aiming for 40psi and 14 deg advance if it will take it on 98 octane.

I dunno how bad Dyno tunes are where you live, but it's about 299 here for the first one, and 100 for each one after that. If you take it to them they can adjust it for the stochiometric air/fuel for you and there won't be any guess work.

And for some reason I think it's 6-8 psi TOTAL over your current, not per injector.

Get your pressure set, put your high octane in and then start advancing one degree at a time. Keep in mind if it's cool outside when you set it up and then changes to warmer and you are about 1 degree from pinging, it will most likely ping in the warmer weather.

I got your pm this morning, sounds like you fixed your problem. A lot of people will tell you to diconnect the battery for 15 minutes. This will let the computer reset. As afr as the 40 pound injectors comment..no comment, 19's will be fine.

She's a little lumpy at idle now almost like it has a cam? At WOT it seems to be starving - no pinging though. I'm putting the fuel pressure reg on and new fuel filter and will advance the timing. Should I put the gauge on first to test the current fuel pressure before I fit the reg? And then bump it from there. With 19lbs injectors how high fuel pressure can I safely go up to. I heard 40 - 42 lbs at aroung 14 deg advance...doe's this sound right?
