Had no luck over at stangnet so I am going to try here.
Have a 95 5.0, completely stock motor except for CAI. I daily drive it during May, June, July and some of August and then it sits covered up for the other 8 months. I would like some opinions, routes to take, insight, or starting points on what to do.
I want to still daily drive it during these months but I want to beef up the motor a little bit and would like to know what I could do? Where I should start and how far I can go to keep it DD.

A new intake and throttle body are useless other then looking good until you get rid of the E7 heads. I would look around for a used set of trickflow heads, roller rockers and a nice off the shelf cam and get a explorer intake and put it together. Might be alittle over a grand but it should be a solid performer after a good dyno tune. And later on down the road you can always upgrade the intake to something cosmetically more appealing and performance orientated. Just plan the swap and piece all the parts together. I pieced all the parts for my top end together for around 1600$ and then bought a blower for a grand and then took it for a tune. Made 366hp and 351ft/lb torque for 2600$ And you can always make more with boost just keep turning it up i have mine set at 6psi and i'm happy with it.
It's all for the love of hot roddin'!!

Lots of different options to choose from with 1 grand. You could spend most of it on some real good heads and gaskets and just live with that for now. Or you could get a nice complete setup using iron GT40 heads, a decent intake and a cam. Figure around $400 for the heads, $250 for the intake, $200 for a cam. Or forget the cam and get a TB and MAF. Keep the stock 19# injectors for this setup. You don't need to go bigger yet. This is what I ran for years only I had 1.7rr on my heads and stock cam.
I got a set of rebuilt GT40P heads with upgraded springs for $350, a GT40P intake for $150, engine gasket set for $100, new timing set for $50, B-Cam for $200, and BBK shorty headers and 70mm throttle body for $250. Total that was $1100, and there's an enormous performance difference. I had other mods as well, but this really upped the power and now it pulls to 6500 rpm and I stop there.
