Question 1994 Mustang to 2004 Mustang Automatic Complete Transmission Swap?

Hi......my 94 GT is going way better nowadays, but vibration felt intermittently seems to be the trans. A good American vehicle mechanic reckons they do this before eventually failing completely.

I can source a NEW 2004 4.6 Mustang trans, originally intended for MG cars, MG is now defunct, so they sold off some Mustang engine/trans units complete.

Want to know if we can fit the 2004 trans to my 1994 GT as a straight swap?

Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately no, the bellhousing is different between a 4.6 and the 5.0 in your car.

Sorry

no they will not directly bolt up, nor do the connectors match up, but what you can do is take the internals out of the 04 trans and use them in your trans and use your existing valve body. or you can rewire your trans to work with the newer valve body. and all you will use from the original is the case and maybe converter. the internals in the 04 trans have a steeper gear set than yours does in 1st and 2nd. id get that trans if i were you.
