i have all the mods listed below with stock heads, cams, rockers and i found this Proform roller rockers with more lift than stock ones of course at a very good price on summit, but i want to know if they really make a difference on POWER and if they are ok for my engine. or does anybody have any suggestions on what other rockers might work perfect on my car ? and last, are they hard to install ?
I've heard it frees up about 5-8 hp. It'd be worth it if you can do it yourself.
I'll probably be doing Rockers, Intake Manifold, Throttle Body, Fuel Rails, and Fuel Injectors all at once. I plan on getting a DSS Longblock, but I want to push as much HP out of the stock block/heads as I can, so hell... on a 94 GT I figured 1.7's would be a good idea, like you did.
well i just saw the installation procedure and it doesnt look so hard, u just have to pull the intake manifold, air intake and disconnect every wire then just pull off the bolts that hold the valve covers but the problem is how to install the new rockers. do u know if those rockers fit with the stock valve covers ? Install Shaft-Mounted Roller Rockers
You only have to pull the upper intake. Also, you'll want pedestal-mounted rockers, rather than stud-mounted. I think the shaft mounted ones are high-dollar.

cnumartyr is right about the HP gains, especially if you go with 1.7. In my opinion the best thing about roller rockers is that you are cutting back on friction. This will allow you to rev higher and safer. All in all they are an easy to install mod that doesnt cost much, you might not feel the difference in the seat of your pants but you will be making your engine much better. Just my $.02
i just made the choice of buying & intalling them with my bro, but the only problem that i have is do i need to buy bigger valve covers or do they fit just fine ? if those rockers that i posted from summit dont fit, can anyone suggest another good brand and not so expensive that dont require bigger valve covers.

Total lift is the cam lobe lift times the rocker arm ratio. The stock cam lift is .444 (.279 cam x 1.59 rocker ratio) and with 1.7 ratio rockers a stock now has .474 lift. It won't change your duration but it still helps the engine breathe better. The Cobra motors had .479 lift using the Crane 1.7 rocker arms. The Crane Cobra rockers aren't the strongest rocker arms on the market but if you're not using monster valve springs they are fine and fit under the factory valve covers.

Yes stock is 1.6 so stick with the right length. otherwise the geometry of the whole thing changes, making the precision of the 1.7 less than that of the 1.6 go with the correct angle. 1.6. its more precise in doing its job.
DSS 331 stroker, AFR 185 heads, Performer rpm 2 intake, Accufab 75 mm race TB, 30lb injectors, 80 mm Pro-M mass air, Extreme energy cam 266.
Anderson ford power pipe the big one, Ford motor sport shorty headers, Bassani x pipe custom cat back with flows, World class T5, center force duel friction clutch.
if the stock is 1.6 why changing then ? so 1.6 with a more aggressive cam is better than only changing to 1.7.
Yup that's right. Did you read the article I posted in the link?
