I have a 95 gt with KN filter, flowmaster mufflers and 9mm spark plug wires. I'm wanting to put an off-road pipe on it but ive heard that sumtimes they actually take away from performance so I was just curious about what I should do. I want to put a MAC off road h-pipe on it. Also i have stock headers so i would assume that i need a short tube header pipe for it right??

the shorty headers should fit very easily with an h/x pipe, its the long tube headers that sometimes dont fit correctly. and about performance wise well it also depends on what you have, match those babies up with some headers a nice intake and exhaust and youll be golden.

if 300 os your budjet then i perosnally would get a set of shorty headers and when you have 300 mor they you can bolt up a H or X pipe to those headers, you prob wont fell a huge fifference if you only out on headers or a H or X pipe, also get a set of mufflers then you will have a good combo
ok, so what do i get with stock headers, i only got 300 hundred so if i put the h pipe on with stock intake and headers will i get much of a boost??
I suggest you do the 3.73 ring and pinion first because that'll yield the most bang per buck at this time. The 3.73 is also the best all round gear. You'll still have change left out of $300 so you could use some of it for an intake manifold phenolic spacer.
I decided from the outset that I'll do intake mods first to improve the engine's breathing and do the 3.73 r&p next. Then I'll follow with the exhaust mods doing long tube headers, H or X pipe, mufflers, and tailpipes in one go.
I think you would also be well advised to do the whole exhaust in one go especially if you're planning long tube headers. If you're planning shorties, you could do the mid-section (H-pipe or X-pipe) first because it'll bolt up to shorties in the same manner as to the stock manifolds. Just remember that long tube headers will yield more HP/TQ than shorties so consider that when you're planning your exhaust set-up.
