ALright I just put in a new ac pump and clutch. but the clutch does not click in. I took of the plug that goes into the ac pump and it has not voltage. I went back to that conester looking thing on the firewall and that plug has 12 volts. so I know its working up till that point. does anyone know what could be the problem?

dose that plug at firewall, low pressure switch have 12v on both sides when pluged in?big G
YES it does. I made sure to check that.

The HVAC system? Oh man there could be 1000 problems.
If you are reading a safety switch and you read across it and it is closed there should be no voltage. Check the switch for continuity to see if it is open or close and check the incoming line for power.
If it's open hook up a set of gauges and check it the AC system's charge.
try jumpering the low pressure cycling switch just for the heck of it with a loose piece of wire.and if worse comes to worse and you have voltage on both sides of the switch. splice in a wire from the switch down to the a/c field coil.maybe you have a open in the line.
it may be a problem in your ccrm, the black box near rad that has all the relays in it for eec power, fuel pump, low speed fan, high speed fan, a/c clutch relay, wot a/c relay? if i recall correctly the basic # is 12b577 ie ????-12b577-?? may find one in wrecking yard of off a friends mustang/ big G

hey man I took a look at all that then connected everything back up and now I have 12volts to the clip that goes into the ac unit and still dont work so Im guessing that the ac clutch is bad. thanks for the help

if the air gap is too wide on the outer hub to pully, the clutch field coil wont be strong enough to pull the hub to pully, you can apply 12v directly to the compressor with engine off to see if the hub gets pulled into pully, if it dosent, try to ,ENGINE OFF , push the outer hub to pully if it stays there, air gap too wide if not , try to see if wrench sticks to it if not the field coil is bad, let me know. big G
