95 vs. 96 stock cd player

is there any difference in the two? will a 96 cd player workin in a 95? all i would be getting is the cd player, and i was wondering would i need the factory tape player to make it work? thanks in advance.

Im using a 99 mustang gt cd player in my stang ... So yes it will work. Everything audio is interchangeable from 94 - 99 GT's ...So yes everything will hook up correctly.

thanks alot. i swear i heard once that if u took the tape player out and left the cd player in that it wouldnt work. anyways thanks, i hopefully will have a radio soon, lol.

Your right, You need the stock tape player to have the stock cd player to work. But if you take lets say a 99 GT's radio and install it in your 95, it will work fine. The units are exactly the same...Except the 96 - 99 I believe only have 5 presets and a clock in the radio.

ok, i dont have the tape player, im just trying to find something cheap, b/c i dont have any extra money for a cd player. is there any way around it so i can just use the cd player?

Yes. Theres a factory type cd player for the older Mach 460 systems. I believe there a cd player and no radio. Your best bet would to be go on ebay and buy one (tape player) for $20.00 and then spend $100.00 on the cd player.

i would get a tape player too, but i have this nifty black plate with FORD and the oval around it, and i have some switches on it already being used. thats my problem.

Just save your money and get a good aftermarket CD player. Will push more power and look better.

I wouldent Kyle, I think the stock looks 100 times better than the aftermaarket. If you have the Mach 460, be prepared for some audio spending!! Very tricky system to work with!!

i dont have the mach setup, i was just wanting the cd player part, i dont want the tape player. the only reason i would go aftermarket is if there isnt a way to put just the factory cd player in alone.

Junk the stock stuff! I went looking for a Mach 460 CD player and the cheapest I could find othe web was ~$600.00 before install- Local dealer wanted $1000. Consider aftermarket my guess is you will be as satisfied as I am
