For straight up horse power gain. Check out Ford Racing for there simple Hi-Flo application. The gain for about 500 dollars is about 75hp with just two items proven for 94-95. This is were you'll get the best for your buck hands down off the start. Exaust for sound and help with power, then 3.73 gears for street,or 4.10 for strip.
After the application (about 1,000 dollars for all)you should be one bad stang in the mid-low 13's. |
I don't agree with that. I've talked with them several times, and my Dad is employed by Ford, but they gave up on the pushrod a long time ago. Sure they have the new Z heads, but they're not that great in comparison.
If Ford parts are so great, then why don't you see guys using them in the NMRA? How many Pure street guys are using GT40 heads, Cobra/GT40 intake, throttle bodies, exhaust, etc. My Trick Flow heads have the same port volume as a GT40 head and flow 40cfm more (on a flow bench at Fox Lake Racing)
Their combo for the 5 Liter that they marketed like crazy in the early 90's (E-cam, intake, GT40 heads, throttle body, headers) they quote as making 300hp at the flywheel. I've seen one combo with long tubes make 265 at the wheel. Now compare that to my 190,000 shortblock with Trick Flow heads, Systemax intake and custom cam making at least 330rwhp and I drive it to work everyday.
One thing that I can say is that their quality is top notch.
