Aight the gears are the best idea. I already have 3.73's, but you might want to think about getting a shifter. I know that i regret not getting that first since I have already spent all my money on exhaust.

The guys that say gears are right. They are your best bang for the buck. 3.73's work great in my 5 speed!

Easy, easy, easy to change.

I've heard Mr. Gasket makes a good thermostat. I personally have a JET thermostat, and am sorta pleased with it. Don't get a cheap Autozone thermostat or you'll regret it.

You'll need to lower the coolant level below the line of the lower intake. Might as well do a full flush if you're up to it. There are two bolts which hold the thermostat housing on. Remove the two bolts, and you're there! Be sure you use a quality gasket, or put a ring of RTV around the housing before you re-attach it.

Get a 180 degree. 160 is too cold, and you'll lose fuel economy.

I'm running a King Cobra clutch in my 5 speed. It is one strong MOFO for the price.

Ya i am running a king Cobra now. I forget who it was but someone said there wasnt any diffrence over the stock clutch. I dont think they had one cause i can tell a HUGE diffrence between the 2. Now i can continue in getting my gears again untill something else pops up. How hard are they to install on your own?

Gears are the one thing you want to leave to the pro's. Sofar, that's the only thing I've had a shop do to my car.

I just upgraded to 4.10 gears, and have a perfectly fine set of Ford Motorsport 3.55's sitting in my garage. (Always buy Ford Gears since they match up so much better). Let me know if you'd be interested in purchasing them from me.

As they say, "Don't fear the gear!"

Default Is it a good deal?

Do you guys think this is a good deal? or is it a good package?

GT-40 Package-This complete package makes 290 hp and includes the following:

• GT-40 heads
• GT-40 upper/lower intake
• 65mm throttle body and inlet adapter
• Stainless-steel shorty headers
• 1.70:1 roller rockers
• “Mustang” logo intake manifold cover
• Strut tower brace
• 3.55:1 ring & pinion gears
• All necessary gaskets, bolts and hoses

$2995.00

My car is an auto. Is there a better package similar to this one?

I can't answer whether or not there's a better package, but there are so many other better things you can do to your car with that much money to make more than 290 hp.

Here's my view:

1100 Edelbrock or AFR or Trick Flow Heads
400 Edelbrock or Trick Flow Intake
200 Custom Cam
180 4.10 Gears
180 Shorty Headers
180 70mm Throttle Body
200 New MAF
200 New Mufflers
88 All the Necessary Gaskets

Now, that's $2728. You are gonna be putting down some MAD horsepower, that will blow any GT-40 combo out of the water!
