Ok so i found an engine, i was thining of using a cobra r hood, still have not found headers for the swap nor have i found an oil pan. I wonder if i would be able to order the stock exhaust mainifolds and oil pan for a 95 Cobra R from Ford? What about the computer, would the 302 computer work with a 351? What about the transmission? What manual transmission will bolt up to a 351 and can the 302 flywheel be used on a 351? What about the the alternator, power steering pump, ect..? Does anybody know a site that shows how to swap a 351 into a SN95? Thanks.

All accessories from an SN95 5.0 will bolt straight up to the Windsor 351. The brackets are a perfect fit. All transmission with bellhousings that attach to the 5.0 will also bolt right up to a 351, but consider that few will be able to survive the torque.

EEC-IV is sensitive for 302 changes, so you'll definitely need some custom tuning for the 351. I don't know about the Cobra R oil pan or the stock 351 manifolds. I would recommend headers, though. Longtubes.

Oh and one more thing, what about the computers out of the Fox Bodies. I understand that they take to mods a little more welcomely so do you think that a Fox computer would work with modification to the wiring harness to fit the computer on it? Thanx again.

In my experience, anything will take mods better than the 94-95 EEC-IV. I know of one person who swapped to an A9L when he went to a 351 in his 95GT.

Besides the hood, oil pan, distributor and header you will need to make a simple bracket to move the alternator a little.

Also stroke the 351 to 393 or 408! DSS will help you with this set-up. The stock computer wont work once you get radical though. Intake, accesories on front of engine and headers need to be for 351 to work.

393 is better IMO over a 408. why? the 393 uses 302 pistons, 351 rods and a custom crank. 408 uses custom pistons, rods, and crank. i wonder which would be cheaper to fix if time were a problem?

right, but if your building a big engine like that, eventually you'll start saying.. "well, what would this be like with nitrous, or a s/c'er" and in that case, if something goes boom, its alot easier to go get off the shelf parts.

sooner or later anything that has moving parts will go boom.

well i think the key is to play it smart and think ahead and prepare for any possible senario... Over build i guess is what i am saying.. then that decreases your chancesof a BOOM, highly!

There's nothing better than a 351 block (stroke it if you like) in an SN95. Its very rare, and you'd be "different".

I take it you're in the Air Force, right? You should have some $$$ to cover the swap when you get back.
