I have been reading through the forums for hours and I am confused.I see some threads that say get AODE-HD2 and some say that they are bad to do a J-Mod. Whats the diffrence and what should I do. I just put a used tranny in my car and it shift wierd since i have the 4:10 gears in the rear end. It swaps gears while crusing. My other tranny had a shift kit in it and no problems. Which should I do and could someone educate me on the diffrence and why I should do the one you think.

I've got the J-mod on my tranny (4R70W) and it works great. The tranny was behind a car pushing 700+ rwhp before I got it.
You'll find people that will say either shift kit is crap. I like the J-mod, it was created by Jerry Wroblski (sp?), the fellow that had a hand in designing the transmission for Ford.
For the dropping out of gear at cruise, check the MLPS (side of the tranny, two bolts) where the shift lever hooks too. When they are misadjusted or going out, the car could act like you describe.

I have the Transgo HD2 shift kit on my Stang and I absolutely love it.
Bullitt... How hard does the transgo shift kit shift? I had a shift kit in the car when i bought it but im not sure what it was. I know if I was full throttle going into second i would break the tires lose shifting to second. Does it shift as hard as that?

Ok Since you are on the shift kit topic is the B&M shift kit good? It says its a stage one or two. you choice. Jegs has the info on it https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...y=OrderItemAdd What do you guys think?
STAGE-1 RV/HEAVY DUTY
Firm positive shifts without loss of driver comfort for improved performance in all street vehicles. Recommended for regular passenger vehicles, RV’s, fleet, etc. STAGE-2 STREET/STRIP
Provides very positive shifts for high performance street use or for competitive events. This model is for the enthusiast who wants the hardest, quickest possible shift.
My AODE is getting rebuilt and fixed and i wanted to know if i should even get one before they reassemble it. Thanks you guys.

I installed a Trans go shift kit in our AODE.
You can firm up the shifts with the xtra spacer that firmed up the spring . We just used the one's they recommended.
So far has been holding up very well, the shift is nice and firm.
But for controlling shift points at various rpm or mph, you need a
tuner!!

The shifts are fast and firm but not harsh. First to second is the firmest and really kicks you in the backside and yes, it does make the tires chirp when I go hard.
