I have the 8" antenna and it looks great. It came from AM and installed without a hitch. I did notice at 80+ you get a faint whistle with the new antenna. At 140+ it sounds even worse
just kidding ! It does tend to make more noise. If you notice on your stock antenna it has a ridge that wraps around it. This I think helps to reduce drag on the antenna. You could always just shorten your stock antenna. That is what a lot of guys do.

Nick is a very busy man. First off, he takes the weekends off, so on Mondays when he comes back, he is very busy. He also gets alot of requests and his job includes more then just watching the forums. It took a couple of days to get mine, but it was worth the wait. If you need to order asap, you could always try calling AM.

It makes me not want to really order my hood that I was going to order because if they can't even send a antenna that fits what will happen when I spend my near 600$ on a hood from them.
This is a classic case of the "You should have called us or PM'd Me"s! This is a known issue that we recently came across that affects an extremely small percentage of the Mustangs on the road, and has been recently corrected for on our latest shipment of antennas. It seems either Ford used a different manufacturer for the antenna base, or for some reason, the threads were at a lower depth in the base, and the after market antennas were not reaching. The problem seemed to occur in less then 5% of the Mustangs manufactured in the 2004-2005 years.

We went to the manufacturer with this and they agreed this was still unacceptable and corrected this with a longer antenna stud. The longer antenna stud fits in both the Mustangs that were having the problem, and also the Mustangs that were not having the problem. Our current inventory consist of all the new updated model.

If you had contacted me...I would have shipped you a new updated antenna for free.

Sorry, I have been out sick with the flu the past several days. Today is my first day back...I should hopefully have all PMs answered today.

I had my antenna snap off over the winter when it caught on my coat as I was clearing snow off my car. I drilled into the base of the antenna and threaded the hole and the shaft of the antenna and just screwed it back together.

I love how you are complaining about a site because it takes them too long to give you a discount... a bit of irony there don't ya think. Alot of sites don't give discounts to random people period.

And Nick,
Sorry about you having the flu man, I had it back at the beginning of March and it was a bear to get over. Hope your feeling better.

Guys--I highly recomend the one I got. 3.5 inches total. Hard not rubber. Comes in black or silver. Went on without any problems. Shipping was quick
Just type in this number on the ebay search and it will pull it up.

At that point, why not just get an antenna delete? UPR Products sells them... (I know this is an AM thread, don't hate! )

And Nick, I don't know you (yet), but I hope you feel better!

Ordered the UPR antenna delete the other day. Will post pic and let you all know how it went and how the reception is. Don't listen to much radio in the car anyway so not a big deal. Like to hear those pipes anyway and when I do listen to music it's on the ipod!

Thumbs up

I just installed my bullet-styled shorty antenna from UPR and it still sounds great!! No loss in reception. I think it measures about 14" now... And yes, it's bullet-styled to match my valve stems and door pins (also bullet shaped) and it is also billet.
Let us know how the ant-delete works.
