I have a 2005 V6 and got my shorty antenna in the mail yesterday after not getting it for 3 weeks due to a dumb mail man but anyways I got it from americanmuscle.com and they said it fits all models from like 89-08 and I took off my huge tower of an antenna and put the shorty antenna in and all it did is keep spinning I had to go buy the correct adapter for 5 dollars not like it really hurt but its dumb that they said it would fit but didn't did anyone else have that problem? It makes me not want to really order my hood that I was going to order because if they can't even send a antenna that fits what will happen when I spend my near 600$ on a hood from them.

Fit my 06 gt. I do remember when I installed it I felt that it wasnt going to fit. after some turning (for a while) it caught on to the stock antenna housing. Once it caught on it only turned like 1/2 way round then it was snug. And i ordered it from american muscle took 2 days.

yea I didn't have a problem with the shipping it was my stupid mailman that messed that up and gave it to the wrong person and they didn't bring it to my house for 3 weeks it was in my city after only a day so yea shipping was great but it wouldn't fit into the spot because it would catch 1/2 way around and then be snug like you said but I could twist it back loose with my fingers so thats when I got mad and went and got a new adapter......

I hope you tried to install it with a wrench. Mine is snug and cant take it off with my hands. If you didnt use a wrench and are going to try it put some cloth between the antenna and wrench teeth or you may scratch the ant.

i have a 2000 GT and it went on fine but be careful washing ur car as my dad was drying it off with a towel it snapped AM was happy to send another one for free, and it came in like 2 3 days

does it pick up good as the factory one.i want one but am scared it will not have good recption.i listen to a lot of radio.if you guys say it picks up as good or close to the tower pole i am oredering on today from am.

To my surprise it picked up better reception than my stock one

I have the eight inch shorty and it installed fine. The reception is noticeably worse at times though. That's what an Ipod is for.

I listen to the exhaust with the both windows fully down about 90% of the time, The other 10% is ipod so radio not important to me. Ordering the 8inch shorty though very soon. Hate that stock fishing pole!

I've got the 14-inch from AM. Great service from AM and the reception is just a great as the stock fishing pole.

I have had two from AM and no problems with the install. I didn't think mine fit either, but once I tightened it really well, it fit perfectly. I had the 14" and its reception was great, no drop off at all from the stock tower. The 8" that I have now still gets great reception most of the time, but in certain areas there is a little drop off. And to the op, AM is a great company, Nick treats us all like family, and they are generally, speaking from experience, very willing to replace any parts that you're unhappy with. I would have no fear in ordering a hood from them, they will fix you up with the best products for the best prices.

yea I did use a wrench and a towel so I didn't scratch it but it just kept twisting half way it would catch then I could twist with my hand and make it come right back out I mean I could of just had the 1 bad one out of thousands sold but I fixed it by getting a new adapter and it does look really nice and it picks up radio alot better than the stock tower they put on I would say order it if you haven't yet.

I have the 8 inch from AM. I like mine, but I did notice that it bends a little back at 153 mph. I just had to straighten it a little. lol.
