Thats too bad. However American Muscle is the best Mustang parts source there is. No individual or company for that matter is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and usually American Muscle is the best in making it right.

hmmm, am usually bends over backwards to make customers happy. i hate to say this but i dont think your computer is too old is the problem. i went though that too, i have a pentium 4 at home. i made a 40 mile trip to work and back to get a newer laptop, and that wasnt the problem. my home pc works just fine. with my x3, i downloaded the drivers on both pcs and screwed it all up on both computers. doug from bama spent 2 hours with me trying to get the drivers on the pc and never did, but having the driver download program on there was the problem. i think sct is more to blame than am. their instructions and info suck. the cd they send is worthless, and the website is so confusing its silly. the sf and x3 debackle is a mess. the download info is a mess. i havent had any problems with tunes or the device once i got it straight, but i dred the thought of changing tuners and going through it all again. i hope you get it straightened out today.

well i am going to my girlfriends house in about an hour here, and i will download the device update software for P/N 3015 on her computer, and HOPEFULLY it will work, if it doesnt, i will have to overnight my tuner to bamachips or something and have them upload the tune directly to the tuner. i still have to call AM about this crap too though...

its true folks, two thursdays ago i ordered the JLT/SCT tuner combo. it said two days to tune, and two days to deliver. well tuesday rolls around and i never got a tracking number, so i gave them a call asking for a tracking number, they said the packages would be sent out later that tuesday, well i never got a tracking number email, so i called the next day, turns out, they never sent it on that tuesday, so they send it out on wednesday, a full 6 days (4 business days) i did not receive my stuff untill friday, 8 days after i originally ordered, which isnt that big of a deal but....
so i install the cai, then upload the american muscle tune into my car and start er up, the car idles terribly, jumping from 400 rpms to 800 rpms back and forth, when i tried to rev it, my car stalled out, and there was this terrible smell. so i called AM on friday, and they said the tuner guy was on the phone (it was about noon at this time) so i gave them my name and number to call me back. 20 mins went by, then 40 mins, then 1,2,3 and 4 hours went by, never got a call. so i ordered a custom tune from bamachips, but when i plug my SCT into my computer my computer doesnt recognize it or something, im starting to think they sent me a bum tuner, and they sure arent doing anything to help me. i even called saturday to get some help loading the bama tune into my sct, but they said they couldnt help me, i still have no custom tune in my car...
Soo...you call us mid-day on a Friday...then when you don't hear back from us (which could be from a number of unintentional reasons), without trying to contact us again that day or on a normal business day you just throw us under the bus...I see how it is! But that is why I am here I guess...
First off, help with the tune. Just from reading this, it sounds like you are not loading the Custom Tune from us onto your car. When you go to install a tune, the SCT tuners default to "Load Preloaded Tune" and then you have to scroll down to "Load Custom Tune" in order to get the tune with the proper MAF configuration for your CAI. I've seen this happen many times, its just the way the tuner defaults its menus. If you are loading a Preloaded tune on your car it will run just like you described.
As far as how long it took for you to receive your tuner, there are a few times during the year, the beginning of spring race season and just before Christmas that an order that requires tuning or wheel mounting & balancing may take slightly longer to ship out due to increased order volume. This is why the Availability is an estimate, it says "usually ships within 2-3 business days". It is based on the average time an item takes to ship. I know the past 2 weeks or so the tuner orders quadrupled for race season so 4 business days is really not that bad...thats only 1 extra day then the estimate. I talked to our SCT department, and they said they are caught up now, and orders are shipping in about 2-3 days per usual now.
I talked to Dan in our SCT department and he said that he did get numerous call back requests on Friday, and he thought that between him and the other tech, that they covered them all that day. He apologized and said he is not sure why you did not receive a call back. If you PM me your Name and Number I can look up your order and see if there is a reason, and also have them call you back. They may have tried to call you and possibly the number the CSRep wrote down had a typo, etc.
Also, the SCT department is not in on the weekends, the part-time Customer Service that is in on the weekends is not going to be able to provide much in-depth technical help. We have the extended and weekend customer service hours for your convenience with processing orders and to take care of customer service issues, but it would be impossible to keep our full time crew here 24/7/365. For more in-depth technical issues, you should always contact us during normal business hours Monday through Friday.
Thanks,
Nick
