well i am going to my girlfriends house in about an hour here, and i will download the device update software for P/N 3015 on her computer, and HOPEFULLY it will work, if it doesnt, i will have to overnight my tuner to bamachips or something and have them upload the tune directly to the tuner. i still have to call AM about this crap too though...
Well?? We are all holding our breath waiting for the good calm word

I've ordered quite a few parts from AM without a problem, but I've never tried their tunes.
I did however have problems loading the drivers and software on all 3 of my computers, and it was due to the fact that SCT's instructions are absolutely horrible, you have to be a mindreader to make it happen the 1st time. I spent about an hour on hold waiting for an SCT tech, and once he walked me through installing the drivers and programs, updating and loading my email tune was a piece of cake, and is very easy to this day.
I have to agree with Nick about loading the tune also, if you click on load Strategy Tune, you don't get the right tune, you have to go into the other tunes and load it. I've seen quite a few people make that mistake as well, it seems to be pretty common.
another update everyone, and ive never been more livid. i tried 3 other computers today, non of them worked. so i got on an instant chat with an SCT tech guy, after an hour of bull he just stopped responding. i called bama and doug said i could send the tuner in to get my 93 tune, but i beleive that would require me returning to stock? so i did, and, and cranked her up........nothing.......my car wouldnt start.... what in the HELL did AMERICAN MUSCLE SELL ME!?! if they, or SCT gave me something that basically screwed my car up, i DO NOT intend to go down qiuetly..somebody is going to fix my car, and i am NOT paying for it.

Calm down there Brian. Disconnect the battery for approx 15 minutes and try starting it again. Did the return to stock tune turn up any errors? Anything unusual?

my car threw no errors, i dont have time to be screwing around with my car tonight, that will have to be in the morning, i have a calculus final tomorrow, and all this sct drama does not help. tomorrow, i will return my car to stock, uninstall my cai, unhook battery, put old airbox in, reconnect battery and try it again. the only thing unusual is that when i start it it goes from 800 rpms, down to 100, then jumps up to 800, much like the custom AM tune did, but more violent. the car shakes like a you know what too. its just ridiculous how much bad luck im having with this. its a bit ironic though, i was talking with 05horse a while back and i told him that technology and i dont get along, nothing works right for me. he said "well i hope nothing goes wrong when you get your tuner, you dont want to mess up your cars computer"

So the car does start? Did you put the MAF sensor on backward?

i guess i was mistaken the first time i put it back to stock, because it starts, then rapidly drops towards 0 rpm, and thats when i got scared and turned it off, but it does go back up to 800, it just doesnt look, sound, or feel pretty

I am sorry to hear you are still having trouble with your tuner. I can assure you we will get your issue resolved.
Our SCT team is extremely talented and know these devices inside and out. They receive ongoing training from SCT, and write hundreds of tunes per week.
Unfortunately, these devices are like any other technology and don't work perfectly 100% of the time. However, we have been selling these devices for over 5 years and I can proudly say we have never had an issue we couldn't resolve or a tune damage a car.
Worst case scenario we will load the new tune onto a new device and get it out to you immediately. Once the new one is working you can send the old one back.
Please PM your phone number, and I will have someone give you a call first thing in the morning.

Dang man, I hate to hear the problems. I got lucky and didn't have to load any tunes to mine, I went ahead and bought the tuner with tunes loaded from Doug. Luckily it seems that Nick is gonna get you taken care of. You might have just got unlucky and were sent the one tuner out of the batch that was dead. I can vouch for returns at AM, when my fog light didn't work, Nick had a brand new unit in the mail the same day I emailed him. It'll work out in the long run.
And good luck on the Calc final, its a tough class, but Im sure you'll do fine.

Its very confusing loading a tune on to a tuner if your not handy (even if your handy they made SF 3000, SF 3015 mixed after a certain month that not even SCT themselves knows whats going on) however installing it to your car is as easy as pie if you follow the screen instructions. When i ordered my SCT tuner, i had to read for 2 weeks ahead and get a idea what to do so when doing it myself, i dont screw up, luckily everything works perfectly (knock on wood).
AM has great c.s feedback and as i mentioned on the other thread, they have a full page ad in a Mustang car magazine here in Canada and most local guys i talked to buy from them.
Just relax, forget anything happened, do your exam and when you come home to your car, PM Nick and he will take care of your issue

dang...got pretty heated there. i know how you feel though feel though man. i had the exact same thing happen when i tried to load my BAMA tune file. Exactly the same thing. My solution? return EVERYTHING back to stock, and start over. Make sure you have the MAF hooked up properly(iv heard a few guys forgetting to connect it). Upload your stock tune, select your custom tune...run through the settings, make sure everything is accounted for(mods) and download your custom tune. If that fails, be in contact with AM..nick will help you out and get your problem fixed soon.

The reason your car is not starting on the stock tune is because you still have the CAI installed.Once you install your stock airbox it will start fine on the stock tune. But with the CAI installed the MAF housing is allowing much more air past the MAF sensor then the car is expecting, which is why the car has no clue what is going on and runs like that.
Also, did you read my earlier post regarding loading the correct custom tune? It really sounds like you are loading the pre-loaded tune and not the custom tune. When you go to install a tune, the SCT tuners default to "Load Preloaded Tune" and then you have to hit the down arrow to scroll down to "Load Custom Tune" in order to get the tune with the proper MAF configuration for your CAI. I've seen this happen many times where people, its just the way the tuner defaults its menus. If you are loading a Preloaded tune on your car without the proper MAF adjustments for your CAI it will run horrible just like you described.
If you PM me your full name and/or order number, like I asked in my previous post, I can have our SCT department contact you to get this resolved. Without knowing who you are and being able to look at your tune files it is very difficult to provide the addition assistance that is required to further troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
So try the procedure above for loading the custom tune on your car I am fairly certain this is the only problem, and also please PM me and let me know who you are so we can contact you.
Thanks,
Nick

SilverBullet07, I just notice you had your name posted in your profile here, so we were able to look up your order and tuning info. It seems there is an anomaly in the list of modifications that you sent us to tune for. On the Custom Tune that you requested you had listed Stock for your air box, meaning you did not request a tune for your JLT CAI.
Our tuners write the tunes exactly as the customer requests. And since the JLT CAI was not on the sheet you submitted, it was not tuned for. I apologize for this inconvenience, but it is a simple fix. Dan from our SCT department will be contacting you today to get this taken care of for you.
