Default MSD coils review.

Ive just installed MSD coils, as usual no problems with any AM products. It even showed up a day early, no surprise there. Ive noticed my car idles much smoother and starts up quicker and easier than usual. Theyre great, they also push 40,000V with LOW resistance. My next purchase ill be wires and some hotter plugs. I recommend there to anyone with a highly modified engine that desires a better ignition.

Thanks AM.

PS: THey look great under the hood, much better then those dusty old motorcrafts.

I just bought a MSD ready to run dizzy for my 289 and it didnt work, It ran for 5 seconds and stoped, done this maybe 10 times then wouldnt work at all, I tried disconnecting the wire from the coil to the dizzy and have plenty of spark there but nothing out the wire to the spark plugs. Any Ideas?

My best guess would be wires, loss on insulation over the years winds up leading to some funny engine problems. If not do a voltage check starting from the distributor all the way over to the Plugs.

Keep your stock coils though. I've tried MSD coils several times and the stockers just last longer.

Ive only just rewired the whole car with a painless system and its 13.8 volts at the coil while its cranking. Considering it hasnt run for 1 minit the parts shop guy said its gotta be sent away to MSD for assessing. Really annoying cause if its faulty, which it has to be, I gotta wait even longer.
