Default Why doesn't American Muscle sell S197 Cylinder Heads?

I may have missed them but I searched and searched and don't see any. I found some for 99-04 but no 05+. I'm wanting to buy new cams and heads.

As far as I can tell you're right, but there are plenty of other sites that sell them.

Hey,

I may be new, but I have learned a couple things! Follow this link to what you seek at Ford Racing and the prices are competitve IMO.

Ford Racing Performance Parts [M-6050-463P*] for the heads and then go ahead and navigate around for everything else.

I saw some at supersixmotorsports and tom morana racing....I wish there were more varieties or something, like more aftermarket cams/heads

comp thumpr's sound amazing, but I heard that they aren't much for performance

i heard that there wasn't too much to be gained from new heads since the S197 already has good flowing heads. How much power should you get from just the heads?

This is the second time i've heard about doing heads and cams together since you've got the engine apart anyway.

The 3v heads are the best flowing heads available for mustangs. Aftermarket heads are ported 3v heads. They all start with the same mold.

Really, thats interesting. I assumed if I was to get Ford Racing cams then I should get Ford Racing heads because I'd have a better chance of getting a good match that created the most hp. Whats the difference in them or livernois than me just payin a shop to port and polish my stock ones?

Yeah, those Ford Racing heads are just ported versions of what you have on your car already...they even come with production valves/springs/retainers/seals/etc. For the $3000 you'd spend on those you are better off just getting some good head work done from a reputable shop on your current heads instead.

4v heads flow a LITTLE bit better, but the 3v heads have a much better flow geometry and are very efficient.
