Default New Wheels For My 2006 Mustang GT Today!

Well, they are here as promised by American Muscle, never had to call to ask anything. I placed my order online, they said they'd be here today and sure enough... So far everything I've gotten from them has arrived promptly and correctly. I checked all 4 wheels, they look great, no scratches or mistakes.

I do have a question for anyone that knows. The tires came inflated at 50 psi, Should I drop the pressure to 32-35 or these tires need to have this pressure? I got the Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z II Tire, 255-18 all around. Thanks everyone, I'll take better pics this weekend. Not sure where we're going yet

I would always use whatever psi is on the door label, even if they are 255's.

there is a chart somehwere for the proper PSI levels on aftermarket tire sizes. Maybe Tirerack.com has it... I got 255/45 18 up front and was recomended to run 30psi and 275/45 18 on the rear and was recomended to run 28psi. Even with 32psi, the tires were showin wear in the middle (over inflation).... I guess it depends on the tire too though....

Thanks, I already dropped the pressure. 50 psi seemed a little high to me.

they usually have max psi, not what you should run at daily.

For daily driving always use the PSI listed in the door jam of your vehicle.

The stamped PSI on the tire is max PSI which you should never use.

When tires are mounted, the mounting machine uses the air to seat the bead which is going to be higher then what you want to run. Whenever you get tires mounted, whether replacement tires at a shop or brand new wheels and tires from us, alway check the PSI before driving because it will be higher from mounting.

Thumbs up

Very nice looking stang! Glad you were able to find out the correct PSI. I was kinda wondering this too for when I get my new rims and tires.

I have the same wheels - just rem they are "inexpensive" ... Not a complaint, I get compliments all the time - just some FYI. They are very easy to clean, but don't let them sit wet for too long and don't let road salt and such sit on them for too long or they will start to pit and peel... otherwise possibly the best wheels out there for the money - good luck with them
