I thought I'd share this with you guys, it's a behind-the-scenes look at our new paint booth (it also has a cool Vista Blue 09 GT and a hot chick). Let me know what you think!
I had no idea what "Pre-painted" meant. Then I watched this video.
I'm still kind of on the fence with the paint stuff, but atleast it was entertaining.
Really like the prepainted parts idea. However very limited selection to only 5 items??? I personally would like to see all your items available with a painted option. If you already have the painter, booth, and parts, why so limited? Dont get me wrong AM is great. Ive bought a lot of items and will continue to do so. Just some constructive feedback.
Im not a fan of pre painted products....Im a auto painter by trade and find that perfect match on some colors is hard. So ordering something already painted in my opinion is taking a huge risk when spending the cash.
As long as the company doing the painting is good, there should be no problem. I bought my quarter window louvers pre painted, and my gt500 rear wing pre painted and its a dead on match!

You have a point, STYLINator. Matching the colors exactly is difficult, which is one of the reasons we started with a limited number of products, and only the newer generation. We are working on expanding our painted parts range, SilverGTVert, and if you have any suggestions for specific parts, I'd love to hear them. We're compiling a list of the most-requested parts to work on making those available next.
Our paint crew is doing their best to make sure that we only send out high-quality parts, and that means taking some time to perfect each option before we're ready to roll them out.

Thanks, I have been doing my trade for 15 years.... With the old solvent base coats it was not as bad. But the new Water Borne technology it is a B***** to match some colors.
What kind of product and paint manufacture are you guys using at AM?
For example....Mine Stang is D6....Screaming Yellow, and I use PPG and I had to tint my own color.
