I had the Shaker 1000, with the dbl 10"s in the enclosure in the trunk.
First thing I did was take out the 4 stock amps, and put in my 800w amp and set the gains and crossover the way I wanted it.
That alone got me a lot better bass.
I also replaced the deck which gave me better control over the subs.
I have thought about changing the stock 10" sub speakers with something else and still use the stock enclosure, but so far it's met my needs.
but I am a rock guy, so I want bass drum kick and bass guitar definition. It does OK on the rap and hip hop stuff, but no where near what some of those guys want.
PS - I disconnected the door subs, they just rattled the doors, and made it too much bass. I like to actually hear the rest of the instruments as well
