Default What company makes the best speakers? period!

Ok everyone! Im looking for some opinions here. I'm ready to mod by sound system and dont want to F__k around with something that I will be disapointed with or waste my cash. I'm going to stay with the Shaker 500 head unit for now. What company do you think makes the best speakers available for our stangs. I am more interested in quality of sound than handling watts. Right now I'm just looking for direct replacements, No crazy mods. I could go to my local retailer but you know they try to sell you what they have. In my 97 F150 I have an Alpine head unit and 4 6x8 Boston Acoustics, I have been very pleased with them so they are currently at the top of my list.

Thanks in advance!

I know! I know! Its an opinion thing! Not so, No matter what industry or product or process there is always a "Leader in the Industry" that all others try to copy or make better than! Maybe we will never know, but there has to be a few at the top of their game. Is it Boston Acoustics, JL Audio, Alpine, Infinity? Someone has an opinion! I'm just looking for a few thats all. Some suggestions if you will.

i'm not sure how others feel about this brand but i've got crossfire's. they are extremely clean and crisp. the ones in my car are pushed by a high output alpine head unit but they sound sooo much better on an amp. i've got a set of four on the tower of my boat that are backed by a decent amp and they sound amazing. a buddy of mine who was working at an audio shop had their component set up on an amp and it kicked my stuff's ass. their subs are supposed to be really nice too. >> C R O S S F I R E C A R A U D I O << they will be more cost effective. there is always mbquart and harman kardon out there who are pricey but sound amazing. anything highend is going to be good stuff.

looks like most people agree that jl is well priced quality stuff. i'd say they look like your best bet unless you want to spend mad cash on the super highend brands we were talking about. i've always heard good things about jl as well.

Since you don't want crazy mods, that sounds like you want direct replacements. In that case, they're all good. Pioneer, Alpine, JL, Sony, Boston Acoustic.

i had to get in on this one. first LOL at the loaded question.
But seriously the only advise i can give is if ur sticking with radio power dont go crazy getting the most expensive speakers that you can because the higher end ones will sound kinda crappy when given radio power. My reccomendation? JL audio coaxials. TR series.

I like JL Audio when it comes to subs, clean clear deep and dependable. When it comes to mids & highs you should test a few brands side by side to see which sounds best to you. I like the sound of A.D.S. components the most, second to that I prefer Alpine & MBquart. A.D.S, Alpine and MBquart all produce great mids&highs but are also good at handling mid bass freq's(congo\snare\ect). Thats why I like them. Other brands just cant reproduce enough mid bass for my liking. Its all personal preference. LISTEN befor you buy. What you like is what is most important.

Default What about the Subs?

Shopping for JL's right now! On the subs, is Pioneer the only Co. that offers drop in 8's. I know the topic is old but there has to be other options since that orig thread!
