well i had my sub playing, A Powerbase(PB-C156D 300WRMS 400WMax). i had throw some D's playing through the aux port (via mp3) at about 75% volume and i had it running on a rockford what is labled on the back sticker as a 550S,(if 550S 275W a channel) and has a side skirt that says 750S, ( i asume its a 550s becouse of its size.) anyway it started to stink in the car so i turned it down and heard distortion so i powered down the system. i got home and it reaked smoke and all sorts of sht.

is there anyway to determin what the hell this amp is putting out? the thing looks like it was exposed to water when i purchased it off a "friend" (notice the "") who was sure it was a 550S by the size, anyway when i opened it to see if the inside had the same waterdamage , i expected residue of some sign the board looked nice and retativly new. (water could easily get in this it has 4 square holes in the back corneres(factory).
i was wondering if anyone else has a 550S and could take a pic of the guts so i can compair.
and i know theres not much to do with the sub anymore but is there anyway i can dabble with repairing it. (or make a frankinsein sub out of it?)i already have freed the skirt from the cage but not the "spyder" part
