Any Suggestions? 1999-2004 Mustang GT Convertible Subwoofer Installs

I'm looking for some info on what can fit in the truck in a vert. Like what kind of box will fit? What dimensions should the box be if its gonna have to be made. Made boxes before just trying to get idea's on what to go with? I have 3 10" JLW3's that i could use for my install as they aren't doing anything at the moment except collect dust. Will there be much bass with this being a convertible. First vert iv'e had and done many install's in lot's of car/suv/truck's. I've got a Rockford Power series BD1000.1 to power the subs. I'm mostly interested in box designs and placements in the trunk.

Can anyone show me some pic's or give me some advice as to what works best in a vert. Since it looks like there is only about 7 cubft in the trunk or so.

I dont drive a vert but you will probably find your box will sound best when facing the rear of the trunk. If you like the real low bass go with just one of JL 10W3s in the SPL box design JL recommends. If you like more rounded bass response curve that reaches a little higher in freq's you may try and fit two 10w3s in a sealed box. It might help to construct a box from cardboard to see what size\volume box will fit. That way you can decide which enclosure is the best using the JL recommendations.

I have 2 12's in the trunk of my vert. I'm not sure what the dimensions of the box are, but it is a down firing box (subs toward the floor of trunk). I also had one that faced toward the rear of the trunk. Yes, you get plenty of bass even though it is a vert. Even with the top down. My box is a pre fab box, so I don't know the specs.

go to mtx autio they have boxes that fit in the corners of the trunk and save tons of room and still make alot of noise.there a little pricey but its worth it.but whatever u do get a sealed box or a bandpass ported boxes dont do well in trunks

Talking Ok got my box to fit....

Ok after painful hours of measuring 0.65cuft per sub sealed and some forcing I got my box in the trunk of the vert it will hold all (3) of the rockford fosgate p210d4's instead of the (3) jl 10w3d4's in there going in my jeep grand cherokee instead. Had to remove every peice of moulding latch trim carpet floor and spare tire/jack to get it in. But it went in with a little help from my muscle and some trimming of the corners of the box to round them off a bit to aid in sliding it in. Will have pictures when its all done and put back together now just have to mount the subs in the box and wire it up. I'm guessing it should hit pretty hard with the rockford fosgate power bd1000.1 hooked up to it. I still have to dynamat the trunk lid and undercoat the walls and floor of the trunk to help in keeping reverbs/rattles down.

Anyone one here have a triple 10 box or 12 box that can shed some light on how their's sounds in the verts.
